Art 01 Projects Collection

Overview

The Projects collection stores your portfolio projects. These can include individual pieces of work, photo shoots, completed assignments, or any showcase items you want to display. Projects are the core content of a portfolio website, allowing visitors to browse and view your work in detail.

Where it's used: Projects are displayed at /projects. This is the overview page. At /projects/your-project-slug  you will se an individual page. They can also be featured on service pages and in the footer navigation.

Status

Controls whether the page is visible on the website

Select "published" when the page is ready to go live. Use "draft" while you are still working on it. Use "archived" for pages that you're not working on and should not be displayed on the site.

  • Only "published" pages are accessible on the website

Important to know

  • Keep projects as "draft" while uploading images and writing content, then publish when complete.
Field

Name

The title/name of the project that appears as the main heading.

A descriptive name for the project. For example: "Coastal Wedding - Sarah & John", "Corporate Headshots - Tech Startup", "Fine Art Portrait Series"

  • Project listing/grid pages
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Service pages (when project is linked to a service)

Slug

The URL path where this project will be accessible.

A URL-friendly version of the project name (lowercase, hyphens instead of spaces). Examples: "Coastal Wedding - Sarah & John" → coastal-wedding-sarah-john

Where it appears

  • The project will be accessible at /projects/your-slug

Important to know

  • Slugs must be unique
  • Use lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens only
  • Keep it descriptive but concise
  • Include key identifying information, like client name, location and type

Description

A short description that appears in project listings and at the top of the project detail page. This is like a "teaser" or summary.

A brief paragraph (2-3 sentences) describing the project. This should give visitors a quick overview. For example: "A beautiful beachside wedding captured in natural light. The ceremony took place at sunset, creating stunning golden hour portraits."

  • Project listing/grid pages (below the project name)
  • Top of project detail page (below the title)
  • Service pages (when project is featured)

FielddateTime

Date Start

The start date of the project.

Select the date when the project started or when the event/shoot took place. For example: "2024-06-15" for a wedding date.

Where it appears

  • Project detail page (as a badge showing "From: [date]")
  • Can be used for filtering/sorting projects by date

Date End

The end date of the project.

Select the date when the project was completed or when the event ended. Leave empty for single-day projects.

Where it appears

  • Project detail page (as a badge showing "To: [date]")
  • Used alongside date_start to show project duration

Important to know

  • Useful for multi-day events, long-term projects, or projects with delivery dates

Featured Image

The main/hero image for the project that appears prominently on listing pages and as the primary image on the detail page.

Upload your best or most representative image from the project. This should be a high-quality image that showcases the work. Recommended size: 1920x1080px or larger.

  • Project listing/grid pages (as the main thumbnail)
  • Project detail page (as hero image if no gallery images are set)
  • Service pages (when project is featured)

Important to know

  • Choose your strongest image
  • Ensure it is high resolution
  • Use consistent aspect ratios across projects for a clean grid layout

Content

The full, detailed content about the project. This is a flexible block-based content system that allows you to mix different types of content blocks to tell the story behind your work.

Add multiple content blocks: WYSIWYG (project story, testimonials, technical details), Field (labels, captions, metadata), and Spacer (vertical spacing with optional separator). Blocks render in order.

  • The main content area of the project detail page, below the description

  • Use WYSIWYG blocks for main story content
  • Use Spacer blocks to create visual separation
  • Use Field blocks for labels or structured data
  • Mix and match blocks to create engaging narratives

Images

A gallery of images for the project. When set, these images are displayed in a slider/carousel on the project detail page.

Upload multiple images (as many as you want) to create a project gallery. These should be all the images you want to showcase for this project.

Where it appears

  • Project detail page (as an image slider/carousel at the top)
  • If images are set, the featured_image is not shown as hero (images take priority)

Important to know

  • Upload images in the order you want them displayed
  • Use high-resolution images
  • Keep file sizes optimized for web
  • Consider the visual flow when ordering images
  • Compress images before uploading to ensure fast page loads. Aim for 1-2MB per image maximum.

Service

Links this project to a service category. This helps organize projects and allows them to appear on service pages.

Select a service from your art_01_services collection that this project belongs to. For example: "Wedding Photography", "Portrait Sessions", "Commercial Work"

Where it appears

  • Project detail page (as a clickable badge linking to the service page)
  • Service pages (projects can be featured on their related service page)

  • Link projects to relevant services for better organization
  • This creates a connection between your services and your work examples
